I know personally how short and precious life really is.  

 

90% of my family members have gone on to meet the maker. Mother, father, grandparents, brother, aunts, uncles and most recently a very close cousin.  

 

We hear it all the time. “Life is short.” “Our days are numbered.” And it’s so very true.  

 

But we often get entangled in “all the things” that keep us from achieving more fulfillment in life.  

 

We wait “until…” before for we do the things we want to do.  

 

We envy someone else’s success instead of focusing on creating our own.  

 

We spend a majority of our life tending to other people’s needs while we neglect our own.  

 

This is NOT your portion. This is not why you’re here.  

 

Today I want to encourage you to live your life to the fullest. Use the energy of this month’s New Moon to release the old and birth something new.  

 

Here are a few suggestions on how to do that:

 

10 Things Life is TOO SHORT For

 

  #1 Not getting dessert. Eat the cake if you want it. Buy yourself a cookie if you’re craving it. You can have your cake, and eat it too – in life & in health.  

 

#2 Not taking your vacation days. If this is you, stop. Stop giving work all of your time. Stop cutting yourself short. Just stop. Go on vacation. Use every bit of the time you’ve earned!  

 

#3 Having your phone glued to your hand every second.  There’s a bigger world out there outside of your phone. Explore it and enjoy it. Leave your phone at home and go for a walk. Yep, you can do it!  

 

#4 Keeping toxic people in your life because they’re all you know.  No honey, NO! Get out of your comfort zone and meet new people. It’s just that simple.  

 

#5 Saying “Yes” to absolutely everything.  No is a complete word. I tell my sons that all the time, and they’re grown men. Saying yes to everything all the time is not only a disservice to you, but to those who you’re saying yes to, as well. Even if you don’t see it that way right now.  

 

#6 Worrying about cellulite, thigh gap (WTH??) or any other made up sign your body is lacking.  Honey, please. It’s too exhausting trying to keep up with these made up standards. Create your own standard and own it. That is all.  

 

#7 Not making your dreams happen, or at the very least, creating an environment in which they can grow.  Those dreams are there for a reason, and it’s not meant for them to fall by the wayside. Make ’em happen, and if you need support, here I am!  

 

#8 Getting in a relationship for the wrong reasons.  Do you have relationships you need to release? Friendships, intimate relationships, coworkers, etc., it doesn’t matter. It’s a difficult position to be in, but life is too short to carry unnecessary extra baggage. Do what you need to do to let ’em go.  

 

#9 Being an “Adult” all the time.  Pleasure and play is one of the main vehicles for fulfillment! Do what feels good and brings you pleasure in life. You’ll be better for it!  

 

#10 Doing hot yoga, if you don’t like hot yoga.  Haha! I know this sounds cray, but seriously, if you’re not into it, don’t do it. Even if everyone raves about it. Find your own thing and just do it. There’s something very wise and true about that Nike slogan!

 

Now some of this may come across as “Duh, Christine!” and some of it may feel like it’s pushing you towards your edge. But all of it is doable and necessary, especially if you want to create a lifestyle of deep self-care.  

 

Remember, deep self-care isn’t about massages, manis or pedis. It’s about honoring your core values and choosing to do the things every day that are in alignment with those values.  

 

THIS is how you create a more fulfilling life and achieve your health goals a lot more easily.
