No need to go to a fancy coffee shop for your favorite latte. A matcha latte can be pricey, especially if it’s a well-sourced, high-quality matcha tea. But you can easily DIY it at home. And save some dough. I’m all about that.

There’s just so much nutri-goodness here, primarily coming from the matcha green tea. As with anything, you get what you pay for, so make sure you’re using a good-quality matcha tea. Here are a few matcha facts:

  • When you drink matcha you ingest the entire leaf and receive 100% of the nutrients of the leaf
  • Matcha powdered green tea has 137 times more antioxidants than regularly brewed green tea.
  • One cup of matcha = 10 cups of regularly brewed green tea in terms of nutritional content

Cashew Matcha Latte

  • 1 c water
  • 1/2 c full-fat coconut milk
  • 1/4 c raw cashews, soaked*
  • 2 T honey (I like it sweet, but you can adjust for your own tastebuds)
  • 2 tsp matcha powder
  • 1 tsp alcohol-free vanilla
  • 1 pinch sea salt


  1. Heat water and milk on the stovetop over medium heat. Stir occasionally to prevent milk from scorching.
  2. Add remaining ingredients to high-speed blender.
  3. After 3-5 minutes, remove your water/milk mixture from the heat and transfer it to your blender. Add on the lid, and blend on high for 30 seconds - 1 min. You want the cashew nuts to completely blend so you don't have a gritty latte.
  4. Pour your latte into a BIG mug and DRINK UP!


*Pre-soak the cashews in warm water for 20-30 minutes to soften them.
