Relationships, no matter what kind (friendships, intimate relationships, professional relationships, family, etc.), can be very tricky to manage. And I must say, the closer they are to you, the more work you end up putting into the relationship.
To ease the burden of the effort you put in, it’s important to make sure you release any expectations from others.
This isn’t to say that you should let go of any standards and boundaries you have for yourself and others. But if you unconsciously expect to receive from others in certain ways to avoid giving that to yourself, you will put your sense of security in someone else.
And that’s no bueno, my love.
Instead, draw upon your own inner-resources to offer love, attention, and nurturance to yourself when you need it.
Then you can allow those things to come from YOU instead of putting expectations on others for what it needs be.
Expect more from YOURSELF!
