Get this: IF YOU THINK YOUR HEALTH & WELLBEING IS SOLEY DEPENDENT ON YOUR WEIGHT, HOW MUCH YOU EXERCISE, AND WHAT FOODS YOU EAT, YOU’RE HIGHLY MISTAKEN.
As matter of fact, oftentimes it’s the other way around. Your physical body usually takes on the effects of how well you’re doing in the other areas of your life.
So if you were thinking “Christine’s a dietitian. Why is she talking about community & relationships??”, it’s because I do things a bit differently. I take a more HOLISTIC approach to health. In my eyes, it’s the only way.
With that said, let’s continue the theme of community & relationships and how you can create healthy, supportive relationships that make you thrive in life (and in health!).
When I started my own personal growth journey many years ago, one of the very first things I learned to do was set boundaries with people. SIDENOTE: Although I’m a lot better, I’m still a work in progress with this!
By setting boundaries in your relationships, you can have a deeper understanding of the type of relationship that you want.
Boundaries are not meant to make you feel trapped or like you’re “walking on eggshells.” Creating boundaries is an expression of what makes you feel comfortable and what you would like or not like to happen within the relationship.
So think about how you can start to strengthen the relationships in your life by setting boundaries on how you’ll treat others and how you’ll allow them to treat you. It’s a game-changer, for sure!
