Okay! Today is the day we start talking about January’s THEME of NOURISHMENT.
The word NOURISHMENT is defined as:
=>> the food or other substances necessary for growth, health, and good condition.
When most of us think of nourishment, we automatically think of food, but as you can clearly see, it’s not only food that nourishes us. So this month we’ll delve into those other things that are necessary for growth, health, and good condition.
So let’s keep it simple today as we talk about WATER.
Most of us know that water is good for us, but did you know that hydration has a MAJOR effect on your energy level and brain function? Yep. That’s why it’s my “go-to” beverage on a regular basis!
I’d say I do a pretty good job at drinking at least 64 oz of water daily, and I often aim for more than that. Keep in mind, you can get a good amount of water from certain foods you eat as well (such as fruits and vegetables).
I keep my water bottle at my bedside and it’s the very first thing I drink when I get up in the morning. I also drink at least 16oz water before I head out for yoga because I want to hydrate myself before AND after my practice. And of course, I drink water throughout the day.
Yes, I pee a lot. LOL!
So how much water will you drink today? Are you big on getting your water in daily, or do you often find it a challenge? Today’s the day to work on it. And if you’re that person that tends to forget, set a reminder on your phone at certain intervals throughout the day to keep you on track. May sound crazy, but it works!
We don’t think of water as nourishment, but it’s one of THE most important nutrients we can give our bodies.
