Nourishment- Limit Caffeine

I love coffee. So much that I have the Starbucks app on my phone and have gone as far as ordering my java ahead so I can just “pick-up and go!” when I arrive at the store.

So I’m not here to bust your coffee bubble today. HOWEVER, too much caffeine in your diet can have a negative effect. 

How much is “too much”?

More than 24oz/day will put you on caffeine overload and here’s how that affects you:

==> Insomnia
==> Nervousness
==> Restlessness
==> Stomach Upset
==> Dehydration

And remember, caffeine comes in other forms than coffee. If you drink a lot of soda (or pop, as we call it here in Chi-town!), drink your fair share of sweet tea (which is loaded with sugar, as well), or down a good dose of those “5-Hour Energy” drinks to keep it moving, you’re likely going overboard on the caffeine and feeling the negative effects.

Plus, all that cream & sugar isn’t doing the waistline any good either!

Herbal tea, lemon water and homemade smoothies are great alternatives to coffee, especially if you need an energy boost!

Enjoy your coffee, but don’t overdo it. Get your energy from healthy sources to stay productive throughout the day!
