Nourishment: Limit Processed Sugar

 

I think we all know we should cut back on our sugar intake (right?). Cakes, cookies, candies, pies…yadda, yadda, yadda.

It’s not that these things are horrible and life-threatening. But in excess they wreak havoc on your health in ways that can cause major complications in the long run. 

Cut the sugar you can control.

The way the food industry is set up (unfortunately) it’s almost impossible to totally eliminate processed sugar from the diet because of hidden sugars found in food items that wouldn’t normally contain sugar. But you can manage what you’re aware of, so start there.

Look at things differently.

I tend to do things a bit differently. Instead of focusing on what you CAN’T have, focus on including more of what you NEED for nourishment. Eat more of the foods that nourish you, and you’ll crowd out those that don’t.

Keep your focus on what’s good for you. The not-so-good will have very little room to fit in.
