So let’s talk about NOURISHMENT for the largest organ on your body, your skin!
I’m a huge advocate for limiting the amount of toxic chemicals that go on my body in the form of makeup, lotions, skin care, perfumes, soap, shampoo, deodorant, etc. I’m super-picky about what I use on my skin, and you should be too!
Where should we be looking for chemicals?
We often hear talk about the pesticides/herbicides that are sprayed on the food we eat, the antibiotics injected into animal flesh, and so on. But what you don’t hear enough about is the multitudes of unnecessary chemicals in the everyday personal care items we use on a regular basis.
We need to be more mindful when selecting these items because everything we put on our skin is absorbed to a certain degree.
You can still smell good!
I no longer wear perfume, but instead I use essential oils and essential oil-based body mists. I use aluminum-free/paraben-free deodorant, organic Argan oil-based make-up, 100% Argan oil as a facial moisturizer by day/avocado oil by night, shea butter as a body moisturizer, as well as a Fair Trade Castile body soap in my bath/shower. Picky, yes I am!
So remember, nourishing your skin with healthy ingredients is just as important as nourishing your body with healthy foods on the inside.
