So, how’d you sleep last night? Keep in mind that although we’re moving forward day by day, continue to work on those things that you know are important for you to change. That’s the only way to create the life (and body) you want.
Okay, so today is day 3 on our NOURISHMENT journey and we’re going to talk a bit about food and weight loss.
We all know there’s a huge “body acceptance” movement going on.
I’m all for that. However, there’s still a great number of people that aren’t satisfied with being overweight and they want more out of their physical body. So even when you’re accepting and loving the body you’re in (as you should) if weight loss is your goal, then don’t give up.
With that said, for those of us over 40, the foods we eat are very important, as well as the AMOUNTS. Portions do matter, no matter what “they” say.
No one says you have to count calories, points or measure your food in color-coded containers. It all works, until it doesn’t work anymore. Meaning it works until it becomes monotonous, boring, or seemingly obsessive-compulsive.
Be mindful of your portions by being mindful of your gut.
Listen to your body when you’re satisfied. Not FULL. Not STUFFED. SATISFIED. And slow down when you eat so you can allow your body to register when you are indeed satisfied.
This is probably the most challenging thing for most of us, but once you work through this, you’re smooth-sailing!
Do you already manage your portions in a way that’s a win-win for you? I’d love to hear about it!
