It’s that time of year that warm, grounding foods and beverages do our body good. And while I’m a fan of having a cup of “Joe” every now and then (hello Starbucks!), I’m a bigger fan of herbal teas and tonics.

Herbal Teas and Tonics

These drinks support and NOURISH the body and there are so many herbs to choose from (chaga, reishi, chamomile, matcha, maca, ashwaghanda…to name a few) that you would never get bored.

While the names of the herbs I mentioned above may be new to you, I’ll let you know that of them all Chaga and Reishi are my favorites and here’s why:

Chaga Mushroom— Chaga is a health food which supports the entire system. contains numerous B vitamins, flavonoids, phenols, minerals, and enzymes. It is also one of the world’s densest sources of pantothenic acid, and this vitamin is needed by the adrenal glands as well as digestive organs.

Reishi Mushroom— Regular consumption of red Reishi can enhance our body’s immune system and improve blood circulation, thus improving better health conditions. Generally, Reishi is recommended as an adaptogen, immune modulator, and a general tonic.

Find Your Favorite

So I encourage you to give an herbal tea a try this week. Matcha, perhaps? Or how about a hot tonic of mocha w/reishi and chaga? Whatever you choose, know that you’re doing something GOOD for your body!
