I’d say about 85% of the women I work with say the one thing that keeps them from making self-care a priority is the lack of time. And I totally understand that.

However, while I understand it, I don’t agree with it. Because we all have a choice in how we spend our time. Just like we have free will to choose how we live our lives.

Last week, I went to the eye doctor to have my annual exam. I saw a new doctor and when she called me into the exam room, she said “Oh, you’re a nutritionist! I need to have a talk with YOU.” I told her, If I had a dollar for every time someone says that to me, I’d be set for life.

I asked her what she needed a nutritionist to help her with, and it turned out she’s struggling with a serious digestive disorder. Long story short, she signed up for a free consultation with me right there in the exam room.

But I question if she would’ve even considered it if she weren’t having serious problems with her health. Would she make the TIME for herself, if she weren’t at the breaking point? The point where the medication isn’t working and she feels like her back’s against the wall?

Before she met me today, she was spending so much of her time trying to get her doctor to prescribe the right medication. So much time arguing with the pharmacist. So much time trying to piece together a diet based on what she found on Dr. Google. All the while , suffering with a condition that when properly managed with diet and medication, she’d live a much more comfortable life.

I’m not even close to being perfect. I’m a work in progress like every other human on the planet. But with over 25 years experience in the Nutrition & Health industry, I can confidently say it’s much easier to maintain your health while you have it than it is to regain it once it’s gone.

So think about how you’re choosing to spend your time. It’s always a choice. Always. Circumstances can make us think we don’t have a choice, but there’s always another way. Always.

How you choose to spend your time is how you live your life. Choose wisely. You don’t have to wait until you get to your breaking point to change your life.

So tell me, does this post resonate with you? If so, and you know deep within that it’s time to make a change, I invite you to take the TIME for yourself by setting up a Clarity Call with me.
